ADR demands the release of Elkhan Nuriyev
Baku/10.10.22/Turan: The Party of Democracy and Prosperity (ADR) issued a statement demanding the release of Elkhan Nuriyev, the head of the executive power of the Gubatly region in the administration of ex-president Elchibey. A citizen of Ukraine, Elkhan Nuriyev, was detained in Poland on October 2 at the request of the Azerbaijani authorities, who put him on the international wanted list. He is accused of premeditated murder and abuse of power in the period 1992-1993, when he headed the Gubatly region.
ADR regards this as political persecution, since Elkhan Nuriyev supported the political course of the Azerbaijan Democracy and Welfare Party (ADR), which is in opposition to the Aliyev regime.
ADR believes that the sanction for the arrest of Nuriyev is connected with his active political position against the authorities in Russia and Azerbaijan, his critical attitude towards Russia's aggression against Ukraine, authoritarian regimes and information activities.
Since 2015, Nuriyev has been the founder and coordinator of the Anti-Putin Information Front, the initiator of the creation of information resources and programs to spread the truth about Russian war crimes. -0—
