Armenia fails to provide information on 3,900 missing in 1st Karabakh war - I.Aliyev
Baku/13.10.22/Turan: Armenia has been ignoring Azerbaijan's requests for 3,900 missing persons from the 1st Karabakh war for two years. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in his speech at the VI Summit on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CBMA) in Astana on October 13.
"Armenia systematically committed war crimes against Azerbaijani civilians and military. Most of the missing were killed and buried in mass graves," Aliyev said.
Mines were another legacy of the war. During the years of occupation Armenia has laid more than one million anti-personnel mines in the territories of Azerbaijan. It would take nearly 30 years and $25 billion to clear all the territories of mines, Aliyev said.
Touching upon the aggravation on the border in mid-September, Aliyev said Armenia continues to carry out provocations on the border. "The Azerbaijani army was forced to launch a decisive counter-terrorist operation to suppress Armenia's military provocation," he said.
