Baku/26.09.23/Turan: The Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the United Kingdom, jointly held a round table in London on September 25 on the topic “Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus: Regional Economic and Security Dynamics”. The event was attended by Farid Shafiev, Chairman of the AIR Center; Taleh Ziyadov, General Director of the Baku International Seaport; and Shahmar Hajiyev, Senior Adviser of the AIR Center.
The discussions during the roundtable encompassed two pivotal topics: "The Shifting International Politics of the South Caucasus" and "Energy Security and the Middle Corridor." Participants delved into the multifaceted dynamics shaping the region and its evolving role in global affairs.
One central theme revolved around the post-conflict developments in the South Caucasus. Panelists acknowledged that the region has been undergoing transformative changes, with positive strides in negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia raising the possibility of a peace agreement and broader regional stabilization. However, they also emphasized that critical issues remained unresolved, underscoring the complexity of the region's challenges.
