Court of Appeal Did Not Release Activist of NIDA
Today Baku Appeals Court rejected the appeal against the decision to extend the arrest of the activist of NIDA Mohammed Azizov for a further period of 2 months.
Lawyer Fariz Namazly told Turan the defendant himself described the court decision as illegal.
Recall that Azizov is one of the seven young activists of NIDA, arrested on false charges of organizing riots.
Prosecution of NIDA is related to their work in organizing events of March 10, demanding an end to soldiers' deaths in peacetime.
Amnesty International recognized them as prisoners of conscience, and demanded their immediate release. -16B-
