Head of the German delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Frank Schwabe responded to the arrest of human rights activist Rufat Safarov in Azerbaijan.

The Constitutional Court of Georgia has ruled against a lawsuit challenging electoral procedures, concluding that the complaints lacked sufficient grounds. The decision, delivered on December 3 after the court’s plenary session on November 28-29, is final and not subject to appeal or review.

The United States said Tuesday it was closely monitoring the case of Rufat Safarov, a prominent human rights defender who got detained today in Azerbaijan, TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.

On the evening of December 3, human rights defender Rufat Safarov was detained by individuals in civilian clothes. According to his father, Rufat was arrested while returning home. The reasons for his detention, as well as his current whereabouts, remain unknown.
