Foreign mercenaries in the Armed Forces of Armenia put on the wanted list - Prosecutor General's Office
Baku / 30.10.20 / Turan: The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has declared an international wanted list.
About 10 foreign citizens participating in hostilities on the side of the Armenian Armed Forces in Karabakh, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev said this at a briefing on October 30.
Among these mercenaries are several French citizens of Armenian origin, as well as citizens of the United States, Greece, Georgia, Lebanon, Syria, also of Armenian origin, and one citizen of Belarus.
At a briefing for foreign diplomats and military attaches accredited in Azerbaijan, photo documents were presented confirming the participation of specific individuals in hostilities.
"Lawsuits have been filed on these facts under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, requests have been sent to the above countries within the framework of agreements on mutual assistance in the legal sphere," Kamran Aliyev said. -02B-

On January 17, the Khatai District Court of Baku rejected the requests for house arrest for journalists Aynur Elgünesh and Natig Djavadly, employees of Meydan TV, their lawyers, Elchin Sadigov and Zibeyda Sadigova reported to Turan news agency. According to the lawyers, there are no legal or procedural grounds for keeping the journalists in detention. The journalists themselves stated that the criminal case against them had been fabricated to punish them for their professional activities. The defense intends to appeal the court's refusal to transfer the journalists to house arrest.
