Head of EU Delegation Denies Words Attributed to Her
Head of EU Delegation Ambassador Malena Mard made the following clarification to avoid any misunderstandings following her comments to Trend News Agency in the margins of a Conference on Inter-Religious Tolerance in Baku and published in Trend on 15 December under the headline "Glava Offica EC v Azerbaijan virazila otnoshenie k arestu armyanskogo chlena Bakinskoy Mirotvortcheskoy platformi":
"I want to clarify that I have no knowledge about the situation of anyone from the Baku platform or of any alleged arrests. In general I think it is important to encourage dialogue between different groups also on challenging topics but I have no specific knowledge of this Baku platform recently established apart from articles in media. As such I cannot make any comments on or assessment of their work" she said in the statement released to Turan IA.
Recall that in this report on behalf of Malena Mard it was said that she considers it important to establish such a peacekeeping Platform and condemns the arrests of its Armenian members in Karabakh. -02B-
