Heads of parliamentary committees elected
Baku/10.03.20/Turan: At the first meeting of the Milli Majlis of the Fourth convocation on March 10, the heads of parliamentary committees were elected.
Hijran Huseynova headed the Committee on the problems of family, women and children;
Siyavush Novruzov - on regional issues;
Ali Huseynli - on legal policy and state building;
Ziyafat Askerov - on defense, security and the fight against corruption;
Zahid Oruj - for human rights;
Sadig Gurbanov - on energy and ecology;
Adyl Aliyev - for youth and sports;
Bakhtiyar Aliyev - in science and education;
Ganira Pashayeva - by culture;
Samed Seyidov - on international relations;
Fazail Ibrahimli - by public associations and religious structures;
Tair Mirkishili - on economic policy;
Tair Rzayev - on agricultural policy;
Musa Guliyev - according to work and social policy;

Journalist Imran Aliyev, held in the 1st Kurdakhany Detention Center near Baku, ended his hunger strike yesterday, which he had begun on November 18. The head of the website Məclis.info, Aliyev was protesting to demand his release, asserting that there was no criminal offense in his actions.

Germany is trying to prevent the escalation of the military conflict in Europe and is making efforts to do so. Speaking on November 22 at a press conference in Baku, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock responded to a question about whether Berlin would provide "Taurus" missiles to Kyiv after Russia's use of ballistic missiles against Ukraine. "Therefore, this question cannot be answered with a simple 'yes'," she said.
