Yesterday Ilham Aliyev received U.S. State Department Coordinator for International Communications and Information Policy Philip Verveer.
Noting that Azerbaijan has extensive experience in organizing international events, Ilham Aliyev described the holding in Baku of the VII Forum on Internet governance, as an indicator of conditions for the development of information and communication technologies.
Philip Verveer, in turn, stressed the importance of the forum in Azerbaijan, which will be attended by many officials from the USA.-0-

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times. According to relatives, the police conducted a search of her apartment.
