Karabakh To Be Discussed at OSCE Ministerial Council
According to OSCE spokesperson Frane Maroevic, the main issues on the agenda of the 19th OSCE Ministerial Council will include human and drug trafficking, cybercrime and human rights. According to him, the meeting will also discuss conflicts in the OSCE area, including the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement.
Maroevic stated that he did not have information about whether a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia will be held. Referring to general information about the meeting, he said that it will feature more than 50 ministers and deputy foreign ministers from the OSCE countries.
Maroevic noted that representatives from 57 countries of the OSCE work on individual documents and statements, which may be adopted by the Ministerial Council. He found it difficult to determine the number of documents that will be accepted, because "the documents are constantly arriving." Maroevic observed that the OSCE Chair will review the quality and importance of documents received.
Returning to the issue of Karabakh discussion, Maroevic said the Irish Presidency attaches "special attention" to the issue. Ireland hopes to share their experience in conflict resolution, and thus contribute to the resolution of conflicts in the OSCE area. -04C -
