Military Prosecutor's Office conducts forensic examination of remains found in Karabakh
Baku/04.04.22/Turan: The remains found recently in Karabakh were submitted for forensic examination, the Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan informs.
According to the same source, the point is about the remains found near Dashalty, Edilli, Syrkhavend, Farrukh villages, and other areas.
These are supposed to be the remains of people missing during the First Karabakh war. For this reason, forensic and molecular-genetic examinations have been assigned, the report says.
We remind that at the end of the Second Karabakh war the mass graves of civilians and Azerbaijani soldiers were found in the liberated territories.
The Armenian side claimed that the remains of 107 people were handed over to Azerbaijan. However, total number of those missing in the First Karabakh war is close to 4,000. The fate of these people is still unknown.
The last remains were revealed on the Farrukh hill near Askeran.
It is assumed that these could be the remains of dozens of Azerbaijani soldiers killed during heavy fighting for this height in January 1993.-16D-
