Ombudsman visited Armenian soldiers captured in Zangelan
Baku/06.05.23/Turan: On June 5, Ombudswoman Sabina Aliyeva visited two Armenian soldiers captured on May 26 for "violating the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan and committing other illegal actions," the message of the Ombudswoman's Office.
The military were captured near the village of Razdara in the Zangilan region. They are Hovagimyan Arut and Karen Ghazaryan.
"These individuals were confidentially received by Ombudswoman Sabina Aliyeva within the framework of the National Preventive Mechanism, and their appeals were considered on the spot. They had no complaints about the conditions of detention and treatment, and expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for the conditions created," the message reads.
The Ombudswoman got acquainted with the conditions of their detention and medical care. The detainees were provided with artistic and informational materials, legislative acts and international documents on their rights in the Armenian language, as well as the possibility of contacting the Ombudswoman. -0-

The OSCE Minsk Group and related institutions should be abolished, stated Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Maria Zakharova at a briefing on Friday.

"We are not against unimpeded communication, but this does not mean unimpeded bypassing of Armenia’s jurisdiction," said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a press conference on Friday. He confirmed that two points of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan remain unresolved. However, he added, Yerevan has proposed solutions for both issues.
