Former employee of the Azerbaijani Embassy in South Korea sentenced to 6 years in prison
Baku/05.06.23/Turan: On June 5, the verdict of the former financial attache of the Azerbaijani Embassy in South Korea, Najib Osmanov, was announced in the Baku Court for Serious Crimes.
The court sentenced him to 6 years in prison. At the same time, the subscription not to leave was replaced by an arrest in the courtroom.
Osmanov was found guilty of embezzlement of a large scale money, abuse of official authority and official forgery.
Osmanov admitted his guilt and repented of what he had done. He stated that he took this path because of gambling addiction.
According to the indictment, Osmanov, from May 2021 to February 2022, appropriated funds provided for embassy expenses, utility and insurance payments of employees.
He spent 347 thousand manats on gambling and sweepstakes on the Internet. ---06B---
