On What Basis Does Armenia Send Its Armed Citizens to Karabakh?
Baku / 17.12.20 / Turan: The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Onik Gasparyan went to Karabakh today to clarify the fate of 73 residents of the Shirak region of Armenia, who were captured in Karabakh.
The Armenian side regarded the capture of its citizens as a violation of the agreements on November 10 and blamed Azerbaijan. In turn, the relatives of the captured Shirak residents rightly accused the Armenian authorities of sending servicemen to Karabakh and leaving them to their own devices. If we refer to the trilateral agreement on November 10, then the Armenian Armed Forces should be withdrawn from all the occupied territories, including Nagorno-Karabakh, by December 1.
However, the relatives of the prisoners of Shirak are rightly indignant that their children were sent to Karabakh three days ago. Thus, the Armenian authorities deliberately and grossly violated the agreement to which they themselves refer.
Considering that those who were taken prisoner after December 1 no longer fall under the agreement of November 10, the principle of exchange "all for all" should not apply to them, and these prisoners must be held accountable to the fullest extent of wartime. -02B-
