President Rouhani: railway through Azerbaijan will link Georgia and Iran
Tbilisi/23.04.14/Turan-BSPRESS: The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the entire region will benefit from development of the railway project linking Iran via Azerbaijan and Georgia, reads a press release published on the web page of the Iranian President. Currently a Kazvin-Rasht-Astara-Henzel, which is under construction will link Iran to Azerbaijan, and then with Russia and Georgia. At a meeting with the new Ambassador of Georgia to Iran, Joseph Chakhvashvili, Rouhani expressed readiness "to expand relations" with Georgia."
According to the administration of the Iranian president, Rouhani said he hoped that the new Ambassador of Georgia "will examine the soil to raise the level of bilateral cooperation in all areas." "Referring to the historical ties between the two countries, Rouhani said that the Islamic Republic of Iran wants to expand economic cooperation with Georgia." -02D-
