Rufat Muradly questioned in case of «Kanal-13» leader
Baku/03.01.23/Turan: Rufat Muradly, an employee of the Internet TV channel «Kanal-13», has been questioned as a witness in the case of the head of this YouTube project, Aziz Orujev, during his administrative detention.
It is recalled that Muradly was arrested on 2 December. On the same day, the court arrested him for 30 days under articles 510 (petty hooliganism) and 535.1 (disobeying the police) of the Code of Administrative Offences.
«I was arrested 30 seconds after getting out of the car, I didn't even have time to distance myself from the vehicle. The decisions of the Azerbaijani courts against me are unfair and absurd,» Muradly told Turan. The journalist said he would lodge a complaint with the Strasbourg court.
Muradly linked his arrest to his journalistic and political activities.During the arrest he was questioned as a witness in the case of the head of «Kanal-13» Aziz Orujev.
It should be added that Aziz Orujev was arrested on 28 November on charges of unauthorised construction, but on 19 December he was charged under Article 206.3.2 (smuggling by prior conspiracy of a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
On 27 December it was announced that the court had sentenced Shamo Eminov, a freelance journalist of «Kanal-13», to three months' imprisonment. Like Aziz Orujev, he is also accused of smuggling. -03B06-

On December 23, a meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Serbia took place in Belgrade. During the final press conference, Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric reported that the discussions focused on the development of tourism. "We are strengthening efforts to open direct air routes, as well as economic development and energy," said Djuric. The minister expressed confidence that cooperation between Serbia and Azerbaijan would become even closer and more intensive in the near future.
