Russian Embassy Сomments on Situation with Sale of Outgoing Flight Tickets
Baku / 06.08.20 / Turan: After the publication by the Turan news agency on August 5, 2020, the message "Not everyone who wished got on the Baku-Moscow-Baku special flight", the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan circulated an official comment in which it clarified the situation.
“Published statements referring to local travel ticket agencies, which indicated that persons who purchased air tickets for the Baku-Moscow flight on August 5, 2020 had to additionally obtain a permit and a code from the Russian Embassy in Baku do not correspond to reality. The gist of the matter is that tickets for a special outgoing flight were sold on a commercial basis to customers without any official approvals as a regular one,” reads a press release published on the website of the Russian diplomatic mission.
The embassy reminds that regular flights between Russia and Azerbaijan have been suspended for an indefinite period. Only outgoing flights are carried out between the two countries, for which only persons who have submitted an application through the Russian Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services (EPGU) (www.gosuslugi.ru/395431/1)can register. On the basis of these applications, the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of Russia together with the Federal Air Transport Agency forms a list of Russian citizens returning to the Russian Federation, and itself notifies them of this. Moreover, only after being included in the specified list, passengers can pay for air tickets. The embassy has nothing to do with the registration of citizens for outgoing flights.
Those wishing to use outgoing flights can receive up-to-date information on charter flights from Azerbaijan to Russia on the official Telegram channel: t.me/Azerbaijan_rf_covid19/. Official communication channel on issues of leaving Azerbaijan: is t.me/Azerbaijan_talks. You can independently check the current status of your application at EPGU at the link: www.sos.midhelp.ru/status.
The embassy does not recommend Russian citizens to proactively purchase tickets for any flights following a direct route from Azerbaijan to Russian cities until there is an official interstate decision on the resumption of regular flights.
The embassy appeals to the media with a request in messages and comments regarding the outgoing of Russian citizens from the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan to be guided by the updated official information of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan (www.azerbaijan.mid.ru) and the Russian Foreign Ministry (www.mid.ru). --06B-
