The Armenian President arrived in Karabakh, said his press office, without revealing the purposes of the visit.
According to local observers, Sargsyan will inform the local leaders on the results of the meeting of the Presidents of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in St. Petersburg.
The fact that Sargsyan personally arrived in Karabakh for this purpose talks about the importance and relevance of the information.
The Armenian side has not yet responded to the sensational statement by the Deputy Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Novruz Mammadov of agreement in St. Petersburg on the phased settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
After the April war, the Armenian side stated the impossibility of gradual settlement and furthermore put forward the conditions under which it would return to the negotiating table. However, Yerevan’s conditions (mandatory participation of Karabakh separatists in the talks, security guarantees and non-use of force) were not seriously apprehended by anyone, and Sargsyan was forced to put up with it.
Apparently, Sargsyan intends to persuade the Karabakh people to accept the gradual settlement and to warn them about the possible consequences in case of their refusal of this. -02D-
