Tajikistan Does Not Believe Its Citizens Organized Terrorist Assault in Istanbul
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan called misleading the message of the Turkish newspaper Milliyet of involvement of Tajikistan citizens in the terrorist attack in the Istanbul airport.
"This media published a photo of the suicide bombers from the surveillance cameras, and those men are similar to the Tajiks in appearance, but it does not mean they are citizens of Tajikistan," Radio Liberty quoted the press service of the Tajik Ministry.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the representative of the Consulate General of Tajikistan in Istanbul will meet with the staff of Milliyet today to find out where they got this information.
Milliyet published the information that the bombings in the Ataturk airport in Istanbul involved three Tajik suicide bombers. The newspaper’s website published footage from surveillance cameras.
In turn, Israeli media quoted Turkish intelligence agencies and reported that two of the terrorists were citizens of Uzbekistan.
Turkish authorities said yesterday that the bombings in the Istanbul airport could be committed by the extremist group Islamic State (banned in Russia). But no one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. According to recent data, three suicide bombers killed 42 people and injured more than 230. -02D-
