The investigation is interrogating the close entourage of Eldar Hasanov
Baku / 17.08.20 / Turan: The website of the Azadlig newspaper reported today that the former deputy of parliament, Alovsat Agalarov, was interrogated for 12 hours at the State Security Service. Agalarov is a friend of the previously arrested ambassador to Serbia, Eldar Hasanov. It is not known where Agalarov is now, Azadlig writes.
According to the same source, the brother and driver of the former ambassador were also questioned. Representatives of a number of media believed to be close to the country's former Prosecutor General Eldar Hasanov, who worked as a diplomat for the past 19 years, are also expected to be questioned.
Attempts to call to Agalarov were futile.
The Public Relations Department of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, upon request, told Turan that they had no information on this matter.
The former Prosecutor General of the country Eldar Hasanov (1995-2000) was detained by the State Security Service on August 13 on charges of embezzlement of state funds and abuse of power. A lawsuit was filed against him.
The court chose a preventive measure against him in the form of arrest for a period of 3 months. Hasanov pleads not guilty, stating that he did not commit any crimes and intends to appeal. -03B-
