The party of the Classic Popular Front called for the release of blogger Mehman Huseynov
Baku / 07.08.18 / Turan: The head of the party of the Classic Popular Front, Mirmahmud Mirali oglu, urged the authorities to immediately release convicted blogger Mehman Huseynov, whose mother died, and was buried today. The leader of the party believes that the arrest of the blogger on the complaint of the chief of police was unfounded and unfair. The real reason for Mehman's persecution is to expose corruption of the authorities. Despite numerous appeals, the authorities did not allow Mehman to see his dying mother.
"All this resembles revenge for criticism, the desire to break and suppress a person, for expressing one's opinion. This is a very dangerous trend, indicating a pathological hatred in society. We categorically condemn this and regard it as psychological torture.
We demand immediately to justify Mehman Huseynov and release him," Miralioglu said in a statement. -02D-
