The prosecutor"s office denies the reports of arrest of Gular Akhmedova

Several online publications that are close to the authorities announced the arrest of ex-deputy Gular Akhmedova, which the day before had been expelled from the ruling party. However, the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General's Office do not confirm nor deny the reports. More precisely, the Interior Ministry said they had no information, and the prosecutor's office said that the official report will be later.

At the same time, the brother of the ex-deputy denies reports of her arrest, saying Gular Akhmedova is sitting at home.

Involved in a scandal with the sale of MP seats, Gular Akhmedova the day before had been expelled from the ruling party. It lost her parliamentary seat even earlier, when the first video was made public, where she extorted $ 1 million from Elshad Abdullayev, promising to "choose" him a member of the parliament.

Yesterday the former Rector of the International University Elshad Abdullayev announced another video where the assistant to Akhmedova said they passed one million USD to the head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev and the election of Abdullayev was a "done deal." -02/04B-
