They try to demonize Turkey - Ilham Aliyev
Baku / 05.11.20 / Turan: There is no military support from Turkey to Azerbaijan, except for the purchase of military equipment, President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with the Spanish EFE agency. "We buy, we conclude contracts, everything is transparent, everything is legal," Aliyev said. He pointed out that Azerbaijan buys weapons from other countries.
“We buy weapons from other countries, but for some reason no one talks about how many weapons we bought from Russia?
Unfortunately, Turkey is at the center of attacks from European politicians. They are trying to demonize Turkey, blackmail and crush it. Why do not those who say that Turkey is providing military support to us do not say that Russia is providing military support to Armenia? ... We have evidence, and we handed it over to the Russian authorities. How many weapons were delivered to Armenia during these 40 days? Why is nobody talking about this? Let's be honest,” Aliyev continued.
“Are you afraid of the internationalization of the war?” Answering this question, Aliyev said that, “Armenia wanted this from the very beginning, and we have always been against it.
The letter from the Prime Minister of Armenia (asking for help) to the President of Russia testifies not only to the admission of defeat, but that they want to drag Russia into a direct conflict, which is unacceptable. As far as I know, Russia rejected it,” Aliyev said.
He also pointed to the Iranian plan for the settlement of the conflict, which provides for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. “Turkey’s position is well known; earlier Georgia also repeatedly supported territorial integrity. This is the position of our neighbors. Armenia is isolated. This is why they want to internationalize the conflict. The best that Armenia can do now is to admit defeat and undertake to surrender the rest of the territory,” Aliyev said.
How would Azerbaijan react if Armenia recognized the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh? Answering this question, Aliyev said, “If they wanted to admit, they would have done it long ago. Why did not they do it? Because they understand that then there will be no negotiations. They have always tried to use it as a pressure method.
I have said many times and I say now, Prime Minister of Armenia, recognize Nagorno-Karabakh right now. Do it, show your courage and the value of your words. Recognize Nagorno-Karabakh! They will not do it, because they are cowards. They can only fight against civilians,” Aliyev said. –06D-
