Turkey Has Not Provided Reports about Gulen’s Connection with Coup Attempt to USA

The Turkish government has acknowledged it has not provided any evidence of the involvement of the preacher Fethullah Gulen in the attempt of a military coup in the country to the USA, where Gulen resides, the Foreign Policy writes.

The representative of the Turkish Embassy in the US Naji Aydan Karamanoglu, told the publication that the evidence linking Gulen with the participants of the coup ‘will be transferred at the due time,’ recognizing thereby that it has not yet been done.

In addition, the diplomat said that Turkey sent the US request for the extradition of Gulen before the coup attempt on July 15.

"Fethullah Gulen has been under investigation on suspicion of creating a terrorist organization and illegal activities against the state even before there was an attempt of coup d'etat,’ said Karamanoglu.

Earlier, the Turkish authorities repeatedly reported that the United States had been provided all the materials of Gulen’s involvement in the coup on July 15.    -02D-
