U.S. Shoots Down Another 'High-Altitude Object' Over Alaska
As directed by President Joe Biden, U.S. forces on Friday shot down what the administration officials called “a high altitude object” being tracked over Alaska, TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.
John Kirby, National Security Council spokesperson, announced the move to the reporters during a White House briefing. In the meantime he couldn’t say if the object, which he said was far smaller than the Chinese spy balloon, was another surveillance vehicle.
Unlike last week's spy balloon that hovered at 60,000 feet, this one being tracked at 40,000 feet "posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight,” Kirby said.
The Pentagon will try to recover the object from the frozen Arctic waters to learn more about it before offering further conclusion.

Despite the fact that the Russian air defense system mistakenly attacked the AZAL aircraft, Russia is responsible for this, stated the "Musavat" party today. It is "outrageous" that the Russian side did not allow the crew of the damaged aircraft to make an emergency landing in Grozny, Mineralnye Vody, or Makhachkala. Moreover, the aircraft's navigation system was disabled, causing Baku to lose communication with the captain of the plane for an extended period of time.
