Western diplomats honour memory of Black January victims
Head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko and EU Ambassadors visited Shehid Alley in Baku on 19 January to pay tribute to the victims of ‘Black January’ on the 35th anniversary of the tragic events.
‘My deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this tragedy. The EU remains committed to promoting peace, stability and prosperity in Azerbaijan, the South Caucasus and the world,’ Mihalko wrote on social media X.
British Ambassador Fergus Auld also visited Shehid Alley today and laid flowers at the graves of Black January victims.
