Will Yerevan retain the post of the CSTO Secretary General?
Baku / 05.11.18 / Turan: Armenia intends to nominate ex-Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan for the vacant position of the CSTO Secretary General. However, the rest of the CSTO members intend to endorse the representative of Belarus, Stanislav Zasya, in this post. Finally, this issue will be resolved on November 8 at the ODKSB summit in Astana. According to Radio Liberty, official Yerevan seeks to retain this post in place of the dismissed Yuri Khachaturov. On November 2 Khachaturov was dismissed after a lawsuit was filed against him in Armenia. -02D-

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times. According to relatives, the police conducted a search of her apartment.
