Yerevan is far from sound thinking - Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry
Baku/05.03.21/Turan: The speech of the head of Azerbaijan at the summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization on March 4 was devoted to the possibility of ensuring peace and cooperation in the region.
While official Baku talks about the benefits for the countries of the region from the development of transport projects, the representative of the Armenian Foreign Ministry calls this a violation of international law and threats to the region. Leyla Abdullayeva, the press secretary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, stated this, commenting on the statement of the representative of the Armenian Foreign Ministry on March 5.
"Such a wrecking assessment by Yerevan of Baku's proposals on cooperation once again testifies that Armenia itself does not know what it wants and that the position of this country is far from sound thinking," Abdullayeva noted.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry regarded the speech of Ilham Aliyev as a disruption of the trilateral statement of November 10. In particular, Aliyev's mention of "the transport corridor through the historical territory of Azerbaijan - Zangezur".
"Calling Zangezur" the historical territory of Azerbaijan "and referring to the far-fetched "corridor", the President of Azerbaijan with such a provocative statement deliberately disrupts the implementation of the trilateral statements of November 9 and January 11," said Foreign Ministry representative Anna Naghdalyan.
She also stated that, “The realization of the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination and elimination of the consequences of the war are the key elements of the settlement.” - 0-
