Asim Mollazade: lifting the sanctions against Iran could have negative consequences
MP Asim Mollazade told in an interview with "Voice of America" and Turan about lifting the sanctions against Iran and its impact on Azerbaijan. According to Mollazade, the lifting of sanctions against Iran minimizes the possibility of military action in the region.
Iran's nuclear program has created the danger of military operations in the region, which was a threat for Azerbaijan. If we consider that Iran has a large number of Azerbaijanis, it could lead to a significant influx of refugees, the deputy said.
With the lifting of sanctions will return back to Iran quite a lot of money. At the same time Mollazade expressed doubt that these funds will be spent on the development of the Iranian economy, or private business. "I do not think that Iran will create favorable conditions for businessmen from Amerika and Europe for business development outside the oil and gas sphere. The talk is about the funds from which the sanctions were lifted," said Mollazade.
At the same time Mollazade expressed doubt that with the fall in oil prices, these investments can be effective. However, if the investment in the Iranian gas system turns the country into a gas exporter, it can have a positive impact on Azerbaijan, said Mollazade.
According to him, due to the implementation of the TANAP and TAP projects Azerbaijan manged to create infrastructure for gas imports and diversify European gas system. Through this system the Iranian gas can enter world markets.
As for Russia, there may be some competition with the Iranian gas. Russia could resist the flow of Iranian gas to Europe except for its supplies to Armenia.
Lifting sanctions from Iran could lead at certain period in the to the enrichment of the country. There are even fundamental differences between the regime and the forces fighting for a free economy.
At the same time, lifting sanctions could endanger the export of the Islamic revolution, with consideration of the growth of revenues. "In connection with the lifting sanctions it is the most negative and dangerous moment," said Mollazade. -0304В-
