Gular Ahmedova: We have good relations with Ramiz Mehdiyev
Stripped of her parliamentary mandate after the scandal with the sale of MP seats, and expelled from the ranks of the ruling party Gular Ahmedova was interviewed on the phone by the Voice of America.
She confirmed that there is a good relationship with the head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev and rejected accusations of involvement in the death of her accomplice to criminal business Sevinj Babayeva.
When asked what she has to say in response to accusations from Elshad Abdullayev about taking from him one million dollars in exchange for his election as deputy, Ahmedova said that these charges will be answered by the investigation.
She declined to answer the question whether she is satisfied with progress of the investigation, only noting that “so far it is tolerable."
She rejected allegations that she was under house arrest, saying that "there was a misunderstanding." Ahmedova did not complain of her health, and said that it was "normal and nothing serious."
Ahmedova rejected accusations from the son of Sevinj Babayeva that her mother had been poisoned. "Let them turn to the investigation. He's a young guy and says all," said Ahmedova, commenting on allegations that she killed Babayeva.
On the question of her personal contact with the head of the presidential administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, the ex-MP said that these relations are of "business" in nature.
"This is a normal communication, as among all people, who know one another. But I cannot say these are very close relations. We met at events," said Ahmedova.
Note that the tone of the conversation of the ex-deputy in this interview was unusually mild. She delicately answered very sharp and even offensive comments in the press and the allegations from her former partner Elshad Abdullayev. -02D-
