633 new COVID-19 infections, 21 dead
Baku /09.01.21/ Turan: Over the past day, 633 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in Azerbaijan, while 1,682 people have recovered, and 21 people have died. This was announced on January 9 by the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers.
The total number of infected people in Azerbaijan reached 224,050 cases, 207,088 people were cured, and 2,890 died. Today, the number of active patients in the country is 14,072 people.
Over the past day, 9,264 tests have been carried out in the country. -0-

Military expert and regular on state television channels, Adalat Verdiyev, has been accused of a serious crime—disclosure of military secrets. According to the charge (Article 308 of the Criminal Code), if the accused can prove the disclosure was unintentional, they may face 3 to 7 years in prison. Under aggravating circumstances, the sentence could range from 4 to 8 years.
