An explosion took place today city of Balaken (440 km north-west from Baku) at the "Azeri Senai"; one person died, and two injured. According to the Emergencies Ministry, the explosion occurred around 10:30 on January 4 in the boiler plant. The explosion did not cause a fire. This year, 22,000 foreign language teachers and an additional 4,000 teachers who were unable to pass certification last year will be involved in the certification process, the director of the state agency for preschool and general education, Eshgi Bagirov, announced on February 12.
