Baku/24.10.23/Turan: Member of the Popular Front Party (PFPA) Mehman Gabibov was beaten by plainclothes men a few days ago. He told Turan that on October 11, in the evening, three plainclothes men stopped him in the village of Gyzyldash (25 km. south of Baku) and put in a black car.

According to the activist, he was taken to the outskirts of the village and began to be beaten with a baton, subjecting him to severe insults.

"They told me – "step aside", "do you want to come to power?", "we will not allow you to do this." After the beatings, I was released," Gabibov said. There were traces of violence on his body.  In the city clinical center Number 1, the activist was not examined, sending him to a Trauma hospital.

An X-ray and ultrasound examination was carried out at hospital No. 3 in the village of Sabunchi, recording bruises and a chest injury, the activist said.

The next day,  an employee of the 38th police department contacted him, and was interested in the incident.  "He said that I would be sent for examination. I waited a week, but no one said anything and didn't show up. Then I left  for Georgia for treatment," Gabibov said. Answering the requyet of Turan, the Interior Ministry said they were investigating the case. ---21B06---
