A resident of Sabirabad is not afraid of threats of the Ministry of Emergency Situations
During a meeting with Kamaladdin Heydarov, the Minister of Emergency Situations, Vidadi Huseynov, a resident of the villager of Azadakend of Sabirabad region, accused the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of corruption. The meeting took place on June 13 and was organized in Salyan region. Vidadi Huseynov told the Minister about the problem of his daughter, Arzu, whose house was damaged during the flood of 2010, but was not rebuilt under the state program of assistance to the victims.
Huseynov is suing with the MES on this issue, what was noticed at the meeting by the Minister Heydarov. In an interview with http://obyektiv.tv Huseynov said that the minister was trying to blackmail him by threatening to file as lawsuit for false reporting.
However, Huseynov did not retire, as the Minister expected, and in response, said that it is the MES which should be brought to justice, and which announced that the houses were built at 60 million manat; but in reality, the construction of one house cost 10,000 manat.
Huseynov, who was a member of the local government commission for eliminating the effects of floods, told Heydarov that he could prove the corruption. For example, the houses were built for people who have Russian citizenship.
No one can intimidate me, I am fighting against corruption in the local courts, and I can continue it in the European Court, he said.
Protesting against corruption during the elimination of the consequences of floods, two years ago Huseynov left the position of the representative of local executive power. Currently Huseynov came to Baku because he is afraid of revenge on the part of MES , or of being arrested on some concocted charges.
“Kura” civil society headquarters considers reasonable the statements of Huseynov. Headquarters has the official results of the examination on unreasonable high cost of houses built by MES. These figures were published and handed over to the relevant authorities, but there was no response. The same corruption situation is in the works to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake in 2012 in Zagatala and Balakan regions.
After a conversation with Vidadi Huseynov, the Minister of Emergency Situations refused to meet with complainants, shifting this responsibility on his subordinates. Approximately 300 people wanted to meet with him.-0-
