Ali Insanov - " You will not break me" (updated)

A preparatory trial in the case of the former Minister of Health Ali Insanov took place in the Garadagh District Court. In October 2016, 9 days before the end of Insanov's sentence, charges were brought against him in the illegal storage of drugs, resistance to supervisors, storage of a prohibited item. On this basis, he was again arrested.

The meeting was held in a small courtroom and  journalists and members of the public were not let there . After violent protests, the court overseers let five people in, including two journalists, among whom was a correspondent of Turan.

Rashad Mustafayev presided in the court, Prosecutor Faraj Huseynov supported the prosecution. As the victim was present Major of the Penitentiary Service Anar Mammadov.

Ali Insanov was imprisoned in an iron cage. After reading the charges, the lawyers Agaveys Shahverdi and Togrul Babayev stated about the artificiality of the charges, indicating that Insanov could not resist, l and use force against a young and healthy officer who is much stronger than the elderly Insanov.

In addition, Insanov could not use force and because he was surrounded by 10 employees of the jail.

The lawyer noted that Insanov had never violated the order throughout his detention - that is, 11 years.

It is impossible to admit that 56 days before his release, Insanov did like that.

Insanov himself said that he knew the "customer" of his arrest well.

"Stop drinking my blood. This dreamer is waiting for the water to end in the river. But it's impossible to break me," he said.

Insanov said further that for 11 years in prison he went through 100 lawsuits, but he did not win  any one. "But I won in the European Court, but this decision is not being carried out," he said.

Speaking  about a new charge against himself, Insanov said that he knew of the impending provocation.

First, a young officer was sent to the jail, who was instructed to provoke Insanov to a fight. "However, I cured him and we became friends," the ex-minister said.

"Then they wanted to accuse me of not legal treatment of prisoners, but this idea also failed. Then came up with another provocation that I had allegedly found a psychotropic substance, and when they wanted to record it, I attacked the officer," Insanov said.

The lawyers petitioned for the termination of the criminal case in view of the unfoundedness of the charge. However, the court rejected the applications and ordered a substantive hearing at 2.30 pm on 12 April.

During the break Insanov said: "European kings were afraid of St. Helena because Napoleon was kept there, our authorities are afraid of Kurdakhan  jail because they know who  is  kept there." -C06--
