Baku/28.12.20/Turan: The Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP) called for an end to Russia's actions that exceed the powers of the peacekeeping mission.

The party’s statement said that on December 27, in the city of Khojaly, a medal ceremony was held by the first deputy head of the “Ministry of Emergency Situations” of the separatist regime in Karabakh, Samvel Petrosyan, to a group of Russian Emergencies Ministry officials.

"The trilateral statement signed on November 10 on the deployment of Russian military units taking over the peacekeeping mission in the mountainous part of Karabakh, naturally, was not met unambiguously by the Azerbaijani public. And new cases completely undermine trust in Russian peacekeepers, whose trust limit is already small," the statement says.

ANIP noted that the attitude of Russia, which arose in connection with the cartel scandal, and then the warm relations of the leader of the peacekeeping army with the head of the separatist regime, the transfer of released Armenian prisoners of war by Russia to Arayik Harutyunyan and now receiving a medal from the separatists by the Emergency Ministry of Russia in the city of Khojaly, where a terrorist act was committed, along with the massacre of thousands of our people.

"The directions of Russia's activity in the settlement of the conflict are determined by the trilateral statement signed in November. According to the statement, neither the transportation of Armenians from Yerevan to Khankendi, nor the construction of houses for Armenians in Khankendi and Khojaly is the responsibility of the peacekeepers, who behave as if they were owners in their home. All parties must understand once and for all that the owner of these lands is Azerbaijan," the document says.

The National Independence Party of Azerbaijan, based on what is happening, believes that the currently observed activity of Russia, whose task is to oust terrorists from the region, in fact, is nothing more than an attempt to legitimize the separatist regime: "Russia must either take into account the interests of Azerbaijan in implementing peacekeeping mission and activities in the region, or leave the territory of Azerbaijan!"

ANIP demanded that the Azerbaijani authorities take adequate steps against the actions of the Russian side, which are beyond the scope of the mission, and send Russia a note in connection with the events, as well as demand an official explanation.-0-
