Arrested journalist tortured ?
Baku/24.09.13/Turan : Elchin Sadigov, lawyer of the arrested journalist Parviz Gashimli, the day before was not admitted to his client , who is contained in the detention center of the Ministry of National Security. The lawyer told Turan Gashimli was taken to the investigator .
When the lawyer asked for a meeting with the investigator, it was not allowed. Sadigov declared illegal the interrogation of the arrested without a lawyer.
Gashimli's questioning without his participation strengthens the suspicion that the prisoner is being tortured in order to obtain the necessary evidence.
Recall that an employee of the newspaper Bizim Yol, the head of the site moderator.az and the head of the Center for Protection of Political and Civil Rights, a member of the Popular Front Gashimli was arrested Sept. 17 on charges of smuggling and illegal possession and trade of weapons.
The journalist denies the charges and considers them to be politically motivated . Gashimli's relatives said that intelligence agencies before his arrest exerted pressure on him to speak on TV against the leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli. -06D--

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
