Baku / 23.10.18 / Turan: In the basement of Baku school number 175, located in the Yasamal district, 352 units of various types of ammunition were withdrawn on Monday. This was reported by ANAMA (Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action).
According to the same source, the inspection area of 400 square meters around the place of discovery did not reveal other dangerous objects. However, the information does not specify how long and for what purpose the ammunition was stored in the basement of the school.
Judging by the published photos, among the discovered ammunition there were artillery shells, hand grenades and cartridges of various caliber, which were collected in a dozen boxes.
Note that not far from this school one of the largest military units, Salyan Barracks, is located. During the period of the collapse of the USSR, ammunition and weapons were actively being taken away and sold by the military leaving Azerbaijan. -03 / 05B06-
