November 6 Sabail court sanctioned the arrest of Arzu Kazymovsky on the case of kidnapping Mahir Abdullayev - brother of the former Rector of the International University Elshad Abdullayev in 2003.
His lawyer Ramiz Zeynalov told Turan Kazymovsky is charged under Article 178.2.3 (fraud using his official position).
Kazymovsky is the founder of Inshaatservis 2002 and, according to Elshad Abdullayev, extorted from him 3 million dollars in exchange for the release of his kidnapped brother. The money was paid, but the abducted man was not released. Kazymovsky did not return the money, giving his house and land instead.
As the lawyer Ramiz Zeynalov said, his client's arrest and the charges are unfounded, since no documentation exists on his receiving the money from Abdullaev.
According to the lawyer, Kazymovsky took the money Abdullayev under 30%, and this is a notarized document.
Kazymovsky took the money for 1.5 years to complete the construction of a site. However, after several months Elshad Abdullayev demanded his money back. Then Kazymovsky gave Abdullayev his apartment in Ahmad Javad Street, worth 500 thousand manats.
In addition, Kazymovsky gave Abdullayev a plot of land next to the road to the airport, an area of ??2.2 hectares, and an office in the area.
The parties agreed that the debt and the interest on the debt is paid off, and this deal was also certified by a notary, the lawyer said.
Note that Kazymovsky twice had to give evidence as a witness. Last time he was summoned for investigation on November 3, where he fell ill and was hospitalized. In the hospital he was not allowed to see the lawyer, and a police post was put up at the door. From there he was taken to court, where he was arrested.
