At the trial in the case of the death of Rasim Aliyev
On Tuesday took place next hearing in the Baku Serious Crimes Court in the case of the death of the journalist Rasim Aliyev. The Court again rejected the petitions of lawyers as the accused and the injured party on summon to court as witnesses the doctors who examined and treated Rasim Aliyev. The Court also rejected the petition of the injured party to summon the Minister of Health Ogtay Shiraliyev as a witness.
The lawyer explained the petition by contradictions between the testimonies of doctors given to investigation and a letter of the Ministry of Health of the prosecutor's office. At the same time, the judge granted the request of the lawyer of one of the accused to summon as witnesses the expert Hadi Huseynov and Ziyafeddin Mammadov who conducted a primary and a commission examinations. The trial will continue on 16 February.
On 8 August, 2015 Rasim Aliyev was beaten by a group of athletes ( 5-6 people.) The next day he died in hospital from internal bleeding. People who beat him were arrested. The reason for the attack was the criticism of a footballer Javid Huseynov by the journalist in the Facebook.
The people who beat the journalist took revenge for criticism of their friend and relatives. The main culprit, Javid Huseynov, is charged with failure to report the planned crime, although the injured party and the counterparts of Rasim Aliyev believe that Javid Huseynov organized the crime. -16D-
