Azan from scientific point of view
A group of Iranian scientists, who arrived in Baku, met on Friday with the head of the Caucasus Muslims Department Allahshukur Pashazade. The purpose of the discussion was Preparation of the religious calendar and ceremonies, told a source close to the sheikh.
During the meeting, Pashazade noted that due to the development of religious processes in Azerbaijan after independence, there was a need to clarify the religious rites.
Thus it was decided to cooperate in this matter with the Institute of Geophysics, University of Tehran, having a great experience. The delegation of Iranian scientists visited the observatory in Pirkuli, and held there together with the CMO a Conference.
According to Pashazade, this cooperation will be of great importance to Islamic solidarity. In the future the work on the refinement of the Islamic calendar will be conducted for the Muslims of the North Caucasus too, he said.
Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mohsen Pakain, appreciated the initiative of the Azerbaijani side, calling it a manifestation of respect for Islam. He noted that the Institute of Geophysics, University of Tehran has been working in this field for more than 50 years.
Director of the Institute of Geophysics of the Iranian Farhad Ahmed Giri said that the Islamic world trusts the religious calendar prepared by the Institute. At a meeting in Shamakhi observatory was discussed a methodology religious calendar.
The first meeting on the above matter was held in autumn 2014.
Religious calendar includes daily recording the exact time of the beginning of the azan, the beginning and the end of the religious festivals and ceremonies. -05C04-
