Azerbaijan creates a new legal entity in the field of standardization
Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on improvement of management in the areas of metrology, accreditation and protection of the patent right objects. The Cabinet of Ministers is in charge within three months to prepare and submit to the President a new draft law "On Standardization" within six months to prepare a draft state program on bringing standardization system in line with international requirements. State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents is in charge for a month to create a public entity "Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology"; create a public entity "Center of Azerbaijan accreditation"; create a public entity "Center for Patents and Trademarks."
According to the official report, these measures are implemented to ensure the sustainability of the economic reforms, improve the quality, safety, competitiveness and export potential of the products manufactured in Azerbaijan, trade liberalization, bringing the areas of metrology, accreditation and protection of patent rights objects in accordance with modern requirements, achieve greater transparency and efficiency of the monitoring mechanism. -02D-
