Baku / 09.23.10 / Turan: On September 23, Azerbaijani climber Israfil Ashurlu left the base camp at the foot of the Himalayan eight-thousander Manaslu (8,156 m) to storm this peak.

Ashurlu will rise from the Base Camp to the 2nd, and then to the 3rd camp, where he will spend the night.
From there, an assault on the peak is planned on September 25-26.
As the climber told Turan, in recent days it has been snowing in the Manaslu area, causing a large avalanche.
The day before the weather improved and the climbers hope that sufficient acclimatization and stable weather will let him reach the peak in a timely manner.
Ashurlu intends to climb without the use of oxygen and without the help of high-altitude Sherpa porters.
"Keep your fists and wish the weather ....," Israfil wrote on his Facebook page.
* Israfil Ashurlu is the only Azerbaijani conqueror of the highest point of the world, Everest (8,848 m). He is the founder of the Azerbaijan Climbing Club, and in previous years he headed the Azerbaijan Mountaineering Federation. -02B-
