Baku / 11.10.18 / Turan: A Baku resident Alexander Kononov committed self-immolation in the Khatai district of Baku on October 10. Thanks to the intervention of the surrounding people, the fire was extinguished, and the man was taken to Hospital No. 5.
Turan was told in the hospital Kononov is in intensive care, while his condition remains grave.
In the Khatai district prosecutor's office a criminal case has been initiated under article 125 (bringing to suicide). However, the district prosecutor's office did not say anything about the motives of the suicide attempt. -06D--

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
