There is no one in the Executive Power in Baku to protect people from dogs
On October 9, street dogs bit the children Melek Ibrahimova and Ramal Huseynli in the village of Buzovna, Khazar District. The local municipality said that adults are to blame for leaving food garbage near garbage cans. Dogs eat waste and breed. In August of the same year, a pack of stray dogs attacked people in Baku Boulevard, chasing tourists. No injuries.
In October 2017, five dogs attacked a mother with a child who walked in Zarifa Aliyeva Park, Baku. A dog bite a seven-year-old Safia Mirzoyeva on the cheek. There are many homeless dogs in Sumgayit, on Pirallahi island, near the 274th kindergarten in Balajari, opposite the 29th house on Javadkhan street (Nasimi district), near the 245th school near the metro station "Hazi Aslanov" 8th district on the street. Nizami Narimanov, 19; next to the Military Prosecutor's Office, according to citizens who failed to call the phones of the Office of the fight against stray animals Baku. People are afraid to leave the house, do not allow children to play in the courtyards.
Cases of dogs attacking passers-by are alarming, although in 2017 the head of the department"s section Arastun Amiraslanov informed the press about the success of this state organization, which checks 700-800 street animals for a month. "Three special cars and nine hunters work in the Directorate. Animals are immobilized using pneumatic weapons and tranquilizers brought to the territory created for this purpose, checked by a veterinarian. If animals are sick and dangerous to humans, they are killed and the corpse burned," Amiraslanov said.
The head of the Department, Mubariz Gurbanov, promised that from May 2018, the department would begin new working conditions. He reported other figures: 12 employees in four cars are fighting with homeless animals in the capital (sputnik.az).
The Executive Power of Baku announced a tender for the purchase of six more specially equipped trucks and six pneumatic units.
If the Office is efficiently operating and expanding, why are there so many complaints from the residents of Baku and Sumgayit? Turan News Agency called to the Directorate to fight against stray animals, and it turned out that this organization under the Executive Power of Baku was liquidated. Nobody deals with trapping stray animals. An employee of the Executive Power of Baku told Turan that a shelter for street dogs of the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Executive Authority of Baku is being created on the territory of the Balakhani village. Works are carried out by the executive power of the capital with the participation of the H.Aliyev Foundation. Until the new shelter begins to work, there is no one to protect the citizens from stray animals.
The village of Balakhani is Azerbaijan"s largest landfill for collecting and recycling household garbage; and therefore, there are many homeless animals in this village.
