Border guard injured in drug dealer fight
Baku/09.23.19/Turan: An Azerbaijani border guard was injured while neutralizing a suspect at the border. The incident occurred at the frontier post official site near the village of Burawar on the Jalilabad-Yardimly highway on September 20 at 21:05.
The attention of the border guard was drawn to the approach of the car, in which there were two people. One of them was out of the car, and taking the bundle from the cache, tried to leave. The border guards ordered him to stop, but he did not obey. During the arrest, he resisted and stabbed Senior Lieutenant Allahverdi Ismayilov. However, the border guard managed to disarm the criminal. Ismayilov received medical assistance; his health is assessed as satisfactory.
The detainee turned out to be a resident of the Jalilabad region Aliyev Elshan Dovlet oglu (1975). Upon inspection of the package, more than 1 kg of marijuana, more than 1 kg of opium and 450 g of heroin were discovered and seized.
The accomplice was also detained. He is a resident of the Babek district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Guliyev Samir Vidadi oglu (1979); 55 grams of opium were found in his car and seized. Investigative measures in fact are ongoing, the press release concludes. -06D--
