Conflict at the court trial in the case of Rovshan Azizov
Baku / 18.07.18 / Turan: On July 16, a conflict took place in the courtroom of the Binagadi district court of Baku, during which the accused side, the members of the Karabakh Liberation Organization (KLO) attacked the plaintiff, former teacher of the English language of the 220th school of the region, Rovshan Azizov, Azizov told Turan. The plaintiff accused the KLO of insulting honor and dignity, disseminating in the media fabrications about allegedly its Armenian origin.
"If not the police, who took out the members of the KLO from the courtroom, they could beat me up there. Next trial will be on August 7, and KLO announced the mobilization of its activists to participate in the meeting; they call me "Armenian agent." I fear for my life and ask journalists to be present in court,"Azizov said.
The young teacher became known in Azerbaijan after he began to use innovative methods of teaching English last year. When he began to criticize the leadership of his school, on December 27 he was dismissed for "violation of labor discipline."
Azizov sued the Principal of the school, the court confirmed the validity of the dismissal and currently this case is pending before the Supreme Court.
The teacher's conflict with the KLO arose from the fact that Azizov filmed a video together with the students, in which Azerbaijani children, depicting the schoolchildren of Azerbaijan and Armenia, came to the conclusion that it was necessary to reconcile the two peoples. The film confirms Azerbaijan's right to Nagorno-Karabakh. However, many considered this film a betrayal of Azerbaijan's interests, and the leader of the KLO called Azizov "an Armenian agent." -0--
