Convicted ringleaders of Ismayilly events
The Sheki Court of Grave Crimes completed the trial of the Chirag hotel receptionist in Ismailly Emil Shamdinov and his friend Elmaddin Mamedov. They were accused of committing a traffic accident in Ismayilli on January 23, which culminated in riots.
Shamdinov is convicted under articles 126.2.4 (bodily injury in dangerous way of hooliganism), 221.2.1 (hooliganism committed by a group of persons) and 221.2 (hooliganism with providing resistance to law enforcers) and sentenced to 9 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
Mamedov was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment under Articles 221.2.1 and 221.2.2.
