Court Does Not Release Fuad Gahramanli under House Arrest
Baku / 18.09.20 / Turan: On Thursday, under the chairmanship of Judge Jeyhun Tagiyev, the Nasimi court considered petitions to transfer Fuad Gahramanli, a member of the Presidium of the Popular Front Party, to house arrest. He was defended by state-appointed lawyer Araz Hasanov.
The court rejected the motion, so the defense will appeal. Gahramanli himself participated in the process. According to the lawyer, Gahramanli does not have any health problems. The lawyer did not disclose details of Gahramanli's speech in court.
“Fuad Gahramanli spoke in court and our opinions coincide. An appeal will be filed against the court's decision,” the lawyer said.
The lawyer did not comment on the statements of Gahramanli's relatives about the violation of his right to telephone conversations, noting that this issue was not discussed at the trial.
In turn, attorney Fakhraddin Mehdiyev, attracted by the Gahramanli family, wrote a complaint to the General Prosecutor's Office that he was not allowed to see his client.
* Recall that the authorities accused Gahramanli and dozens of other PFPA members of organizing a demonstration on July 14-15 and riots. Criminal cases were initiated against 17 of them for organizing riots, attempting to seize power, resisting the police, etc. Another 15 people were arrested in administrative order. -06B-
