Court to Announce Decision on Ilgar Mamedov’s Complaint on May 3
The court's decision on the appeal of the leader of the movement REAL Ilgar Mamedov and the Deputy Chairman of the party Musavat Tofig Yagublu will be announced on May 3 at 10 a.m. Turan was told by Ilgar Mamedov’s lawyer Fuad Agayev.
Recall that Mamedov and Yagublu were sentenced on charges of organizing riots in Ismayilli in January 2013 and sentenced to 7 and 5 years' imprisonment respectively.
On October 13, 2015, the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan considered the appeal and sent the case back for retrial in Sheki Appeal Court. Thereafter, the case was adjourned several times. Meanwhile, Yagublu was released by act of clemency on 17 March.
Amnesty International recognizes Yagublu and Mamedov as prisoners of conscience. -02D-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
